Love to share with you two hypnotic concepts that will make a difference to how you experience your life......in a very positive way....would you like to know what they are?
One of my mates used to say "I've never had a bad day in my life...some are just better than others".. We all know the saying "shit happens". Right? Its how we deal with it that makes the difference...and you have a choice about how you deal with it.
We all have days that come to seemingly challenge us and knock us out of whatever comfort zone we've settled into. "Yours truly" is no exception and today was no exception. So I'd like to share two ways that I utilise myself to change how I work through things.
Firstly, REFRAMING....by which I mean, considering the situation from a different point of view. Have you ever had that experience before that when you looked at something differently you experienced it differently? You have....haven't you!
You can reframe things in a few different ways. One way is to ask yourself questions like "What else can this mean?" , "What's the gift inside this issue?", "Is there something for me to learn which I can be grateful for?" or even making statements such as "I'm grateful for the gift inside this ...". Play with it, ask yourself a few different questions and see what happens.
Another way to reframe, especially if you are a "feeling" type person is to move yourself physically into a different position. The movement and the different location create a change in perception. Actually, Anthony Robbins says "Motion creates emotion".
Secondly, STATE CHANGE, is a great way to change how you act/react to different situations. Being able to move your STATE OF MIND from negative to positive is a resource that you already have. Consciously using that resource is a skill to practise and develop. Remember a time when you felt flat, sad, negative.....how did you deal with stuff? Poorly, right?
Now flip that right around completely. Remember a time when you felt really strong, powerful and creative......how did you feel with stuff that happened? Like you could deal with it easily, confidently...didn't you?
Practise it with sincerity ....don't try to do it.... DO IT. You'll notice a difference.

It happens at almost every show And in many one on one or group therapy sessions. Someone will come up and ask me "What if I can't be hypnotised?" or tell me"You can't hypnotise me!"
Both interesting questions and demonstrate that many people today are confused about what hypnosis is, and also , what it isn't"
Lets start with what hypnosis is.
It is a state of deep relaxation where the volunteer is so focused on the hypnotist's voice that they simply block everything else out. The critical conscious factor is bypassed and allows for the unconscious mind to accept suggestions.
While the volunteer appears to be asleep...they are only in a sleep like state and not sleep itself. Sort of like that zone between being awake and being asleep.
If you have a look at your activities each day...there are periods when you seem to operate on autopilot...from driving the car....to getting ready for the day....even to the work you do....
For example...have you ever driven to a location....got out of the car and say to yourself...how did I get here...you forgot the journey....because the unconscious mind took care of it.
The other statement - "You can't hypnotise me!", is usually a fear based statement. That is because the person making the statement is afraid that they will lose control of the mind and hand it to me, as the hypnotist. Simply not true. This is a joint venture. If you don't want to go on the journey then you won't....go on the journey.
Once there is understanding of the hypnotic state then the fear is removed and the volunteers can allow themselves to have fun and enjoy the experience.
And that is what its all about.

Sometimes you can see great insights in simple things.
Take kid's movies for example. Like Kung Fu Panda.
Here is this panda, called Po, who works in a noodle shop.
All the time he is dreaming of being a kung fu master.
When he wakes from his dreams he is just a panda.
And yet, he still dreams of his goal in his waking moments.
An opportunity comes for him to train with the greats.
The turtle grand master decrees him to be the Dragon Warrior.
The trainer puts Po through his paces and discovers that Po is really
setting a new record low of achievement. Zero. Po becomes down on himself.
He is not like them. They do not make him welcome and he feels out of place.
Po goes to leave, he totally lacks any belief in himself. Yet the trainer
is given an insight about believing in Po and he will see Po become the Dragon Warrior.
If you haven't seen the movie - go and get it.
Events turn when Po realises the meaning of the Dragon scroll. Only the Dragon Warrior
is allowed to read it. When Po unrolls the scroll it is blank. He sees only his reflection.
What can this mean? The revelation is that there is no secret ingredient to being the master, or to success. The main ingredient is YOU.
Believing in yourself is the secret ingredient.
Many people find this the hardest thing to achieve. Yet, you can do it when you
have the right tools. And I'm blessed to be able to help people find that belief within
And in the end. Po has the final fight with his nemesis.....and because he believes in himself ....he wins.
We can all win when we believe we can.

Are you one of those people who weigh themselves on the scales regularly?
Did you know that it actually makes your situation worse not better?
My statement is based on the statement "you tend to get more of what you focus on".
Even if you are focusing on moving away from something. You tend to get more of it because that's where you focus is. May sound a little crazy but it's true.
If we dig a little deeper for an explanation or a contributing factor then we will do well to refer to Psycho-Cybernetics by Dr Maxwell Maltz. A great read, written in 1960 and still quite relevant today.
Using the principle of psycho-cybernetics and our self image we can make a bit more sense of the negative impact of regularly use of scales. Every time you look at the number on the scales you send a message to your unconscious mind that this is your weight. A loop starts where you reinforce this weight as a constant,....your identity...and along with the negative emotions that go with it....you now anchor this in even more deeply.
You might ask "so what should I do?". Simply, do the reverse. Create a positive image of who you want to be and use the same principles to reinforce that new image. You could make a positive, powerful and present tense affirmation about yourself. Like. I'm so happy that I am now wearing my favourite Size ?? outfit.
To add to that you could create a mind movie or vision board of your ideal self.
These are positive steps forward, yet, they rely on your will power to repeat these exercises many times each day.
Here is where hypnosis and NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) come into play. Using these tools it is possible to go inside the unconscious mind and change the programming so that you do not have to constantly think of repeating your affirmations or review your mind movie.
We go right to the CPU and install a new pattern of thought, new beliefs, a new identity. After that, the body responds. Like others before you, you may find that portion sizes decrease, you have to tighten the belt because your pants are falling down or maybe even buying a new wardrobe.

It happens to most people who are go on diets.
1. They start the latest fad diet.
2. They starve themselves.
3. They lose some weight.
4. They stop the diet or get distracted.
5. The weight comes back and even more.
Why is it so?
Firstly, it is based on willpower not belief. Willpower only accounts for about 5% of change. The problem is that most people don't have the rigid discipline required to consciously focus on their diet 24/7. Secondly, you are working against the life force of nature.
That may sound a little grandiose and here is how I understand it to work. The physical act of starving yourself, as well as your mental approach that you are starving yourself sends an almighty powerful message to your unconscious mind (the world of your beliefs and emotions). And that message is - WARNING, A FAMINE is in progress.
The unconscious mind reacts by storing every gram of fat in places where you do not want it and on top of that, sucks every little bit of fat of the few things you have left to eat.
Then as soon as you lose focus, you go back to your old eating habits just like a stretched rubber band snaps back and bites you. So you go on a diet and off the diet and on the diet etc etc.
What are you supposed to do?
That is where the reprogramming the unconscious mind comes in. Changing you on the inside to change you on the outside. With the unconscious mind letting go of old beliefs and taking on new ones ...you will become thinner!

If you have had enough of looking in the mirror and not enjoying the reflection of an overweight body......if you don't like the feeling of wearing baggy clothes to cover yourself up......if you are thinking about Christmas and dreading the thought of eating your way through it....
Then it may be time to make a change for the better.
What if you could work on your weight while you sleep?
What if you enjoyed eating the right foods for you without having to think about it?
Imagine how much more you could be enjoying life!
What's the first step? It's said that if you want a better answer you have to ask a better question. Let me suggest that the question is not :How can I lose weight?" rather it is "How can I create my ideal body image?"
By changing the question we change the focus and be more likely to succeed in achieving what we want. We tend to get what we focus on. That's why I changed the question from WEIGHT and LOSS (both of which you do not want) to your ideal body image.
Speak the question out loud and notice the difference in how you perceive it.
That's the first step and I'll be sharing more over the next 30 days in the lead up to my

Usually I'm the one hypnotising others...yet the other day a shop assistant used a language pattern that through me into a spin. Fortunately, she didn't realise what she had done and she didn't have the knowledge to utilise the state she had put me in.
It was such an unusual experience. I went into the shop, confident that I knew what I wanted to buy. A Mac Book Air. I'd been a PC user long enough and I was ready to change.
After sitting down, telling her what I wanted she came back with this statement "You know it doesn't have a disk drive, don't you?" It was unexpected. For whatever reason it threw me out of kilter in my pattern of thinking. She just created confusion within me. If it was me, I would have built on that. WHat would I have done? mmm
Knowing that I was there to buy..well, you could add to the shopping list....add to the trance state.....take them on a journey to find out more about them....you could just about take someone from that state to where ever you wanted to go.
It was a fun experience to look back upon in retrospect. And, it provided a great learning opportunity. Isn't it true that you learn more from experience than from reading about an experience?
Listen to the language patterns being used around you and see if you can observe their impact on other people. Then practice them, if you want to.

If you've watched The Matrix movies you've probably heard that phrase before. But have you ever wondered what that means and how it relates to you?
When we observe people and what they do, we see that they live their lives in accordance with the belief systems that they have installed. The beliefs act like a thermostat. When they get too hot (outperforming to their beliefs) or too cold (underperforming to their beliefs) then the thermostat kicks in and brings them back to normal (whatever they perceive normal to be).
Can you identify that this may also happen in your own life? Maybe you believe that maybe you don't.
Have you seen people who believed that they are lucky? They same to fall on their feet in every situation, they might "be lucky enough" to see a $100 note on the path as they are walking. That fits in with their belief system. The belief system then impacts on perceptual filters so that they are looking for opportunity/good luck.
In contrast, the unlucky person who believes they are unlucky have set up their perceptual filters to exclude all opportunity and good luck to the extent of this belief.

In my comedy hypnosis shows, the volunteers go through a number of situational changes in their beliefs. During the show their beliefs are suspended so that they can have other experiences - being a rick and roll star, a irish river dancer, forgetting their names, regression to an early age.
What would happen to your life if you could change your beliefs to those that support the life you would want to have?
